Written by Sackville's granddaughter, The Bolter is a recounting of Idina's life as a notorious flapper gal, member of the Happy Valley set, and generally lost soul. This book will appeal to people who enjoy reading about high living, esp. in colonial societies and who don't mind ignoring the real human suffering that supported that lifestyle. Idina Sackville/Wallace/Errol was certainly a remarkable woman, and it's fun to read about her exploits. She searched constantly for happiness through romance, and not surprisingly, was constantly disappointed.
