Yukio Mishima's "The Sailor Who Fell From Grace With the Sea" is a cross between Psycho and "Lord of the Flies." Mishima was an interesting character in his own right committing suicide by seppuku (hara kiri) after participating in a failed coup attempt in Japan in 1970. He had an obsession with the code of the samurai in real life. I'd say 4-ish, but I needed all the authorial back story to get there. ...more
