Maugham may literally be one of my favorite authors period. I have yet to read something of his that I haven't thoroughly enjoyed and wasn't grabbed by. While I haven't read all of his works yet, and there are several that I really like The Razor's Edge stands out as a real favorite. Which is unusual as I seem to prefer his stories that are set entirely in the east. I read "Of Human Bondage" in high school and remember enjoying it but had not read more by Maugham until now. I loved this book and will read more of his books! Maugham himself wittily narrates the story of a young man from Chicago who travels widely in search of life's meaning and self-fulfillment. You, in turn, reflect on how you lead your life.

One of my favorite books of all time..I especially liked the movie with Bill Murray as the protagonist mostly since I hadn't seen the original version yet..Do yourself a favor, read this book!! ...more
