This amazing audio was perhaps more powerful to me as an adult than Anne’s own diary. The perspective of a Dutch person and community helping to hide people they cared for was a heartbreaking education.
This book will stay with me for a very long time, I listened to the audio book version, which I recommend. Learning about the compassion, and grit, and courage, that Miep Gies possessed was very moving. Miep was an employee at Otto Frank’s factory, and she helped keep the entire Frank family in hiding along with 4 others..We are touring the Anne Frank Museum soon, and this perspective from an adult at the time, combined with the Diary of Anne Frank, was very memorable.
Recommended for everyone who is interested in Anne Frank. Although this doesn't say much about her, it's more like a description about the war time and the encounters with Otto Frank. It was interesting to get another point of view to the days.
