An intense, well-told narrative of the events on Mt. Everest in May 1996 that claimed the lives of eight climbers. Krakauer was on that expedition and gives his first-person account of what happened. One of the more harrowing details I learned is the climbing routes on Mt. 85% of the way done with this book I went to bed expecting snow...and so of course I dreamed I was also on Everest all night. It was exhausting!
