Fingersmith is such a fun, atmospheric, twisty Victorian-style novel. It’s a great read for anyone who loves a good sensational tale full of secrets, betrayals, inheritance challenges, kidnappings, con-men (and women), forgeries, and asylums. Sarah Waters is incredible at building rich, layered stories with complicated characters, cliffhanger-laden plots, and a grimy, shadowy 1860s London setting.
