Try as I might, I could not get into this book. The majority of the characters were wholly unlikeable. The plot, if you can even call it that, was bland and unimaginative. And the writing was erratic. Woolf's writing style is flighty and convoluted. I found myself reading without absorbing a word. Perhaps, I just find it difficult to sympathize with the plight of the aristocratic English. For me, this book was flat and emotionless. ...more
