The story is set in 1950s India and features an interesting group of characters. There's Dini, a single woman in her early 40s who is trying to live a financially independent life; Maneck, a lonely college student; and Ishvar and Omprakash, an uncle and nephew team, looking for work as tailors. Minstry does an excellent job interweaving the horrific stories of each of these characters before they had met each other and then exploring what happens when their lives intersect.
