Intermittently interesting.
I wanted to like this book, but it did not keep my attention for more than a few pages at a time. As a result, I slogged through it for nearly four months (my online library account dutifully renewing it again and again) before finally skimming over the last few sections and gleefully shoving it in the book return slot, enraptured to move onto better books.
Aargh! Read this as part of the planning for tramping in the Andes, including the obligatory visit to Machu Picchu, then somehow managed to delete my review, and can't remember what I said. Worth a read if you are going there, though.
