Generally love books in this excellent mystery series. This mystery was OK, but the unrelenting hammering against religion and the Italian Catholic church and all its well-known faults - including bringing in the controversial and secretive, conspiracy-theory lover's Opus Dei spectre (generally an over-the-top signal) - just got tiresome and at times seemed to overshadow the mystery. A slow starter, but the range of religious views offers interesting insight into Venetian life.
