If I were a 10 year old boy this book would've probably been the Cat's Meow! As I'm not, I could appreciate the writing, and it is fun to see where all the "original" pirate characterizations and saying began, but I found the story a bit wearisome.

The old fashioned English takes patience to adjust to, but this book richly deserves it's accolade as a "classic." Bethie and I both found ourselves, unexpectedly, looking forward to listening to this.
