So you go along, thinking that you are a very hip and with-it librarian; (and NO those are not mutually exclusive terms) who keeps up with all the new releases, knows what is due to come out and when; gets on all the hot hold lists before anyone else etc, etc, when all of the sudden you are walking past the new fiction display only to spy Moral Disorder and other stories by the incomparable Margaret Atwood (only one of your very favorite authors of all time)~and the title had completely slipped

Throughout all the short stories (which come together as almost a whole novel since they are about the same person) I felt disconnected to the main characters, uninspired and like I was just coasting along with someone I didn't particularly care to know. I did finish them all because it's a short book but... it was pointless.

I love Atwood, and the short form shows off just how much she's able to evoke with a minimum of words. I especially enjoyed "The Labrador Fiasco" - an evocative story of a family coming to grips with the ravages of time.
