I read this for the Pop Sugar 2015 Challenge "a classic romance" since I already owned it and apparently it's meant to be a romance. While I appreciated reading about the time period and location, I had no idea that the romance of the story was between a 15-year-old girl and man in his 30s. Um, wrong. How can I read this as a romance?? It was very disturbing. And supposedly autobiographical, so I had to go read online more about it. It seems like maybe fingers crossed most of it was made up, but
