At first, I felt Kundera had copped out in the way he completed this tidy little novella and then I realized he'd managed to raise all the questions of identity that he had been raising throughout the novel up another notch by applying them to me as the reader interpreting the novel -- a pretty neat trick in hindsight. ...more
