Very good book about Phineas Finn, an Irish lad who finds him elected to serve in the British Parliament. The story is a mix of the political innerworkings of Parliament (and how Phineas learns to maneuver his way through his tenure as a House of Commons representative) and Phineas' love life, the latter of which has different impacts on Phineas' political career.

It took a long time for me to get into this book, and I didn't really like Mr. Finn very much. But halfway through, I found totally caught up in the story. I am looking forward to the next book in the series. ...more
