Shelves: classics

In high school we read Julius Caesar and Hamlet. Two tragedies with circuitous and hard-to-follow dialogue. I wanted to give the guy who is the most quoted author in the Western Canon another chance but I needed a ramp with a slight incline. A Midsummer Night's Dream filled the bill beautifully. May I say I was successful getting through to the end, and rather quickly at that, paving the way for me to venture into a few more of the Comedies before I tackle the histories or tragedies later on. I don't MIND it, at least I didn't the first four times.... Now the only blessing is that it's not R and J (by far my least favorite, blissfully fallen out of favor lately.) I still enjoy the Tempest but fear at this rate it might someday go this way too. ...more

Puck è un folletto malizioso caratteristico del folklore inglese che ha ispirato molti personaggi letterari specialmente quello di Shakespeare nella sua straordinaria commedia "Sogno di una notte di mezza estate". La figura di Puck è strettamente associata al gioco degli inganni e il termine "puckish" sta ad indicare qualcuno che ha un carattere tanto luminoso quanto enigmatico.
