The mystery's definitely the weaker element here as the ultimate culprit sticks out a bit too much, but Alexander does an excellent job with Emily's introspection and her fears about what her choices mean for her future.

This is another good novel in the Lady Emily series. This one takes place in Turkey so there is lots of intrigue with harems and sultans and so on, so that trying to solve the murder is much more difficult.
The story in most of these author's books is eerily the same but the setting in Turkey and information about Constantinople is worth the price of the book
