I read this as an adult and wondered why I hadn't ever read it as a child. I fell in love with Anne Shirley and had to run to the library for the rest of the series. I read a good few on a 'stay at home' vacation and still remember it as a heavenly vacation.

I could not stand this movie as a kid or for many years as an adult. I suspect it would still grate on me. But I stumbled on Rilla of Ingleside and loved it. I didn’t know when I checked out the audiobook that it was an Anne book. I just knew it was An LM Montgomery book and I had lived Kilkenny of the Orchard. I gave this one a go after loving Rilla and was pleasantly surprised at the book version of Anne. However, I suspect the Anne of “Rilla of Ingleside” gave me hope and helped me aguantar t
