A giant run on sentence that jumps from one topic to another. I was so looking forward to this book. So disappointed.
What a delightful tongue in cheek recounting of life for a foreigner in Southern France
This book breaks no new ground in the genre, but it's a charming account of a British couple's first year living in a small town in Provence - an easygoing and undemanding read to enjoy traveling in one's mind for a while. Peter Mayle describes the neighbors and characters who populate this town with warmth and affection, and his rich descriptions certainly conjure up the sights, smells and tastes of A Year in Provence.
