There were too many problems with this finale, too many 'wth???' moments. Unfortunately, I found the big revelations quite disappointing, and some key questions were not answered. I felt that there were some character-related loose threads that weren't tied up properly too ((view spoiler)). I am starting this book for the second time, after setting it aside and going back to re-read Dreamfever (which was a wonderful re-read, by the way!). I can now unequivocally state that it is MANDATORY to read Dreamfever right before Shadowfever. For whatever reason, exposition is completely lacking and I had NO idea what was happening - in my memory I'd confused two characters, and that really threw me off.

Wonderful story! I love how all the highlanders' stories tied in, and how there's the possibility for more (Prince C?).

I thought this book started out very slowly but it definitely improved. Not all my questions were answered, but the book left many of them open for another anticipated series.
okay, despite the awkwardly graphic scenes in this, I have to say that this series, this BOOK, is fraggin' addicting. The pace was furious, loose ends were tied up in a wonderful way.... and it left room for more story, but had a satisfying ending. Bravo.
