I gave this book 4 stars but it really is a young adult book. I think it would be amazing for young girls to read it as teens or preteens, because the way Virginia overcomes all the obstacles put in her way to become educated and then comfortable in her own skin is so inspiring. I loved her inner thoughts and the fact that it is based on her real life makes it all that much more interesting.
