The writing in this book is beautiful. I am not sure why this is classified as a YA book, it reads more as an adult novel. I really liked all the secondary characters, especially the coffee-drinking dog, named Doorman. It was a bit predictable though, even though it was supposed to be a big mystery. I did enjoy reading it none-the-less.
I don't think I ever would have read this book if it hadn't been assigned as summer reading for my students but I loved it. It's a really sweet and simple story that I think any person can relate to because we all have demons that need to be taken care of.

I agree with most of what Rachel said in her review. For the most part I really enjoyed the book and there were many touching moments, but I wasn't blown away by it like I was with The Book Thief. I don't really have much else to say.
