I absolutely loved this book! It was such a calm and intelligent read. It was a soothing story to read, compared to a lot of the edgy fiction that is out there. I just loved it. I also like this author's No.1 Ladies' Detective Agency series, but I am eager to read more in this series.

My 2nd McCall Smith book in the Isabel Dalhousie series. I loved it. It was just delicious, engaging, thoughtful, funny, insightful into human character and foibles. Just a delight to read and enjoy and savor! Looking forward to reading more McCall Smith--both this series (there are ten volumes in the series so far!) and other ones. Can't get enough.

I love the Isabel Dalhousie series . She’s a wise woman, and as wise people do ( or should ) , she learns from people that she encounters.
The idea of cellular memories is intriguing ; keep an open mind…
I don’t re hash the entire book’s plot ( many others here have done that for us ) I do recommend this particular series .
