What Orwell can accomplish in this 100 page book shows that many author are more enamored with their own voice rather than trying to convey an important message.
This is a reread, which IO don't ordinarily do, but it fit a task for the Seasonal Reading Challenge, and I picked up on some points I missed the first time. The really great books are often like that. ...more

reread this summer, fun and easy, and really interesting to think about it within the context in which it was published, which was described in the foreword of my edition of the book (rejected by many publishers because of its controversial nature).
