Jane Eyre is my favorite classic. I first read it the summer before I started high school. It was on the summer required reading list.
I still remember so many days, stretched out on the couch in my new bedroom above the garage, reading this thick red volume checked out from the library.

I read this when I was a teenager, and I have been wanting to re-read this to see if I still liked it. It does.
I was not overly interested in Jane's story of growing up in a girls school and then becoming a governess. It just didn't interest me as much as Jane Austen's books do.

Yikes, I think I need to re-read this. There's a reference to it in something I recently read and it was completely unfamiliar.
