After so much hype, I didn't know what to expect from this book. Ultimately, it sucked me and kept me up much to late on many school nights. I'm glad that I had visited Sweden prior to reading this book because it allowed me to better understand and visualize what Larsson described. I found most surprising two things. One, the level of unsettling graphic detail included and, two, how I kept thinking the book was about to end and yet had a whole other story to finish or tell.

4.5 stars. This is a rich, amazing, and terrifying book written at a sometimes glacial pace but that builds such a complex cast of characters and a world I need to know more about. I will definitely be reading the rest of the series.
There were moments, facts, backstory where I truly didn’t know what the hell was going on, especially in relationship to things related to economics, finance, and the legal system in Sweden. However I almost didn’t care. Sure this book could have been about 200 page ...more

Took me a while to get into it. i re-read the first 20 pages a few times. But once I got past the beginning I couldn't put it down.
Page-turner, good to read while traveling. Read like a movie, reminded me of the Dan Brown mysteries. ...more
