What Members Thought
Although I love poetry and read it every day, I am not fond of novels in verse. I get around it by listening to the audiobook. I didn’t LOVE The Poet X, because I don't really love the "coming of age" subgenre, so I wasn't super excited to read another book by Acevedo. This book is gorgeously written and heartbreaking and beautifully performed on audio.
Amazing! Acevedo’s talent is astounding! This novel-in-prose is lyrical, raw, and immersive. The lives of these two sisters are changed irrevocably in one moment and their exploration of love, loss, and grief is something I’ll think about for a long time. #hispanicheritagemonth
