3.5 stars. I really enjoy books where a crotchety older woman is paired with someone younger and/or an animal, and experiences growth as a result. This was a good example in the genre, but not a great one.

Missy Carmichael is seventy-nine years old. Her husband has been gone for a long time, her son has moved to Australia, and she is estranged from her daughter. She is alone, and life has little meaning for her.
And then suddenly everything changes. Into her life come two strangers and a dog, and together these three begin to return Missy to life.
The loveliest sort of story, a story of the power of love and relationships in our lives.
