3.5 stars. I really enjoy books where a crotchety older woman is paired with someone younger and/or an animal, and experiences growth as a result. This was a good example in the genre, but not a great one.

3.5 actually, somewhat predictable but heartwarming with characters made to order.
A nice, comfort-food of a read, except for one thing.
