This was an amazing cultural story that I enjoyed so much on audio. The narrator was one of my favorites. She balanced women and men, India and British accents. She made the book for me.
The author tells the story of a Henna Artist… yes. But it was an eye-opening cultural and familial story set in the 1950’s, where women clearly are still in the lower caste from men, and the poor lower caste are barely human.
