What an interesting read. Tells the story of L. Frank Baum’s widow, Maud Gage Baum, on the set of The Wizard of Oz, with flashbacks to the life events that made up this story. Theirs is an interesting story on its own, but its incorporation into the magical Wizard of Oz and the story of how it was filmed- in Technicolor- really gave depth and interest. Recommend to anyone who wants a different, deeper perspective on this American classic.

Meh. The best things about this story for me were the details about the making of the movie and possible germs for the books it was based on. The author of the book and his wife were somewhat interesting but the characters felt flat to me.
