Doris has an old red address book given to her by her father when she was a child. Hach, ich weiß jetzt schon, dass ich es nicht schaffen werde, meine Gedanken geordnet niederzuschreiben. Ich kann einfach nicht ausdrücken, wie wunderbar und ergreifend dieses Buch ist. Der Inhalt klingt so simpel und fast langweilig – und doch steckt so viel Spannung, Liebe und Schmerz darin.

A very enjoyable story with likeable characters. I really loved Doris and her outlook on life.

I wasn't sure what to think about this novel at first. It started out a bit slow and then it really caught my attention and I couldn't read it fast enough. One of the nice aspects about it is each of the chapters tend to be encapsulated stories so you ca read it a little bit at a time and not feel like you have to backtrack to get started again.
