Another story of survival through the awful experience brought on by the Nazi party. Well written saga of well lived lives. Lale and Gita’s lives in Auschwitz are documented for eternity. The purpose is that we never forget the level of atrocity Nanking can reach. The reason for telling stories like this is to prevent it from happening again.

Having walked through the Arbeit macht frei gate, and sat in the remains of the crematoriums and the blocks myself, I could again hear the sounds of the ghosts haunting those places speaking to me while I was reading it. Its a lovely love story, well told.

One the best stories I have read in a very long time. The love story and sheer will of staying alive is so endearing. How he helped so many and what he endured to do this.
