I enjoyed what the author was trying to conceive with this murder mystery. The main character is Aiden Bishop (although I still don't know who he is or were he came from ... I just felt he was trapped in his own personal hell). Aiden has 8 days to resolve a murder and each day he wakes up in a different body of the different house guests or servants. When Aiden goes into the bodies, he does take on their personalities or physical hardships. So he is limited and has to work with what he's been gi ...more

I didn't think there was any new ways to tell an estate party murder mystery, but then this book came along. Wow, I actually felt thrill and worry as the bodies piled up in a way that I haven't since first introduced to this type of story so many years ago.

Loved the complexity and creativity of this mystery-thriller combination. The mystery was delightfully challenging, and the characters were a Downton Abbey style of interesting. I enjoyed dwelling inside the main character’s head as he tried to make sense of what was happening. I love a good who-dun-it, and this one is deeply complex and kept me guess right to the end, which rarely happens. I found it took me a little while to really connect to the story, but once I did, it was great fun. There are a ton of moving pieces in this mystery and it’s really impressive that the author ties them all up as well as he does.
