A very beautiful and captivating book about a Marsh Girl named Kya- who was abandoned as a child and had to survive living in the marsh on her own. It’s heartbreaking and amazing- the loneliness is real, I can totally feel it through Kya’s heart and eyes. The marsh is her only family and the bery descriptive setting helps a lot.

Why didn't anyone help a young girl all alone with no parents, food etc.? Instead ridicule her! Ugh, will things ever change in this world!

Highly readable, compelling story. Loved the vision of the marsh, the ecology of the marsh, the meditation on male animal species as compared to male human behavior. I didn't find it a stunning piece of literature, but would recommend it to nearly anyone.
