4 and a half ⭐️
A terrific psychological thriller that kept me on pins and needles with a bunch of twist and turns. There were parts that were absolutely terrorizing and parts that were predictable, but I went with my suspension of disbelief and just enjoyed it. it’s a fast read and a fast moving story that enfolds with some flashbacks. I was surprised to learn it was a male author and about his real life drama. Regardless, a very fun read

While the presentation of the story was different and intriguing, I grew to heartily dislike the main character because she seemed totally at a loss at how to take care of herself and do something with her life and relied on medication to solve her problems. Did I mention that she is a psychiatrist ?

This book was great! I was on the edge of my seat while reading it and had a fantastic time. It is one of those books that if I had had the time, would have likely read in one sitting. So why 4 stars and not 5? Well, the book felt like it was written for the movies, which I can't wait to see, but at the same time, it kept playing like that in my head while reading it. From time to time, this movie in my head became distraction.
Even so, I highly recommend it. The story moves fast, and I found it ...more

4.5 Stars. A must read for any Hitchcock fan.

Good thriller for a summer binge read, with an unexpected twist after an expected one.
The issue I have with contemporary novels is that I get the sense that the author is thinking of the movie deal as soon as they lay out the plot.
The film references are just too obvious.
It was good for a book club discussion though.

A contemporary take on Hitchcock's Rear Window, this one a suspenseful and surprising novel involving an agoraphobic shut-in and her predilection for checking out the neighbors from the comfort of her own home. Some terrific twists and an ending I didn't see coming.
