What Members Thought

This book is devastating, relentless, and depressing. It should be required reading for all U.S. citizens. High school history classes really should teach kids just exactly how our country expanded west. As an American of European descent, I am thoroughly disgusted. Invasion and destroying other people's cultures is bad enough, but we did even worse than take the Indians' land and systematically destroy so many of their cultures. Read on.

A truly sad & depressing account of the slow & systematic genocide of a group of peoples who were spread across continental N. America--the American Indian peoples. Lies, deceptions, & treaties broken time & time again, over & over. What I really liked in this account is the voice of a great many Indian leaders that speak loudly down through all the years since these sad/tragic events took place. Read this book as an audiobook borrowed from our library back in the US.
