Great premise and some real issues to think about here, but I'm only remembering the broad strokes and barely the ending, so that's not good. The parts that sit with me still are how the schools began teaching AP Religion unilaterally - not as a comparative religion class; the protagonist is given privileges in exchange for her unique knowledge and research; the way the kids are treated seems comparable to the Hitler's German youth for the boys based on what I've read of it, while the girls have

Very engaging and thought provoking novel. Definitely puts you on edge and makes you reflect on what can happen if the extreme radical fringes of politics succeed in controlling/fooling the general population. Set as a situation where the ultra religious right have silenced women literally. Just as easy to view it being the extreme left of politics as well. It's a reminder of why we should all pay attention and engage in the political process in the US
