Mercy rocks! Like any Urban Fantasy protagonist, she is badass and kicks major evildoer butt. Seriously, she doesn't exactly go looking for violence but when she dishes it out she can be pretty damn brutal, and rest assured they definitely had it coming!
What makes her special is that she has believable weaknesses and contradictions just like the rest of us. When she's really upset, this girl bakes brownies and watches bad movies.

One of the reasons I like Patricia Briggs is that she doesn't include graphic sex or violence, when she includes it at all. I was surprised then with the sexual assault scene, although, once again, not graphic and more disturbing for the references to the scene rather than the actual scene. Other than that, I was happy with the plot, and I've consistently liked Mercy's character. I was also glad that Mercy gets to be more of a hero this time, and is recognized by the pack for her strengths. ...more

I think that this is my favorite of the series. Really good story line, engaging dialogue, a few twists towards the end that I did not expect. Can't wait for the next one to come out. ...more
