I loved this book! So lovely to learn the backstory of that Owens family in this lyrical, magical tale of family, love and loss. Great on audio!

Oh my god. A perfect book about magic, portrayed absolutely beautifully and that brought me to tears at the end. I’m so glad there are two more books in this saga and I can’t wait to get to them (one in the past, one in the future). So much love, loss, heartbreak, spells, curses, choices, fate, family, and how history repeats through generations. I just loved everything about it. A beautiful story with themes close to my heart. I read it without knowledge of its earlier-written sequel. Three siblings Frances, Bridget (Jet) and Vincent Owens grow up in turbulent Manhattan and get to know their true selves. They are descendants of a witch and a witch hunter. They also inherited a curse where they lose those whom they love truly.

The themes of the story are accepting your truth and embracing the twin joy and sorrow of love and loss. I would read more from this author.
