This book just totally missed the mark for me. I had seen it billed as kind of a Julie James style epic battle royale of the sexes. And I found it to be anything but. Making Lucinda the sole first person narrator was a mistake. I found her very annoying and over the top. This was grear fun for a while with some sparks flying between the two love-hate protagonists whose "hate" is obsessive and in its obsession, identical with love. They work in the same office which makes for some wonderful comedic situations. And a lot of tropes are hit for all trope-hungry readers: enemies to lovers, Canadian shack, only one bed, fake dating.

And then, round about the middle, it sort of sags. It becomes a little predictable. The last part especially, centred around the protagon

Though the plot is predictable, this story is such fun that you don't even mind and you just hope it gets where you want it to go. Two very lovable and funny characters move the story along, and at times get in their own and each other's way. But love prevails and the book will leave you feeling satisfied. ...more
