I liked this book for many reasons - but especially because it made me see things from a different perspective. The three main characters are well educated successful blacks in their 20s. A tragic event occurs and the story is how they deal with it over time. I liked their interactions with each other but it was also interesting to see their interactions with their parents who came to their own successes in usually a harder way. The writing is excellent and i would definitely recommend this book

Audiobook. The narrator embodied the character of little Roy so well. It really felt like he was just telling me his story. Parts of the story were so painful, but the actions & reactions fit the characters. Liked the feisty aunt. Loved Big Roy. The part about him and the shovel - no wonder Celestial felt less in the comparison. And the ending - satisfying, but not too neat.
