Started this book a few different times, ultimately took several chapters for the story to pick up. The romances didn't all feel entirely necessary to the story. Some neat uses of magic to demonstrate lasting effects of trauma. Slightly cliffhanger ending, was hoping it would be a standalone but now I kind of want to know what happens next... ...more
