A very good thriller about two brothers whose lives take different paths after being brought up in an orphanage. Unfortunately, Hart's writing is a bit off at times, but the unlikeability of Elena (she and Michael just don't seem to fit in my opinion) and part of the ending turned this into a 3 star instead of what likely would have been a 4 star read. I do enjoy reading Hart, though, and will continue to check his books out in the future. ...more

I've really enjoyed Hart's previous work, but this one was a letdown for me - the two main plot threads never mesh well, and it's hard for me to buy into Michael's devotion to his brother and girlfriend when he seems to be entirely unconcerned or to forget them entirely in places. I think the whole hitman/mob boss thing works against Hart's strengths and ultimately drags down the story. ...more
