What Members Thought
This was more of a 4.5 for me but I'm rounding up because I'm a glass-half-full type of person. Eleanor is a quirky, loveable character and I always root for the underdog. Her vocabulary was super annoying but I know that is part of her character.. well, I certainly learned a few new words!

Excellent, compelling read. Both laugh out loud funny and tear brimmingly sad. Will be in my Top Ten for the year.
The promise of a heartwarming story got me started on this novel. There is no wallowing in tragedy or self-pity. Eleanor’s detachment from the norms of popular culture is charming and sad, but the story is uplifting.
