What Members Thought

It’s not that the writing wasn’t enjoyable. It was intelligent and interesting. The characters were also interesting and compelling. So what was wrong ? It didn’t connect all the characters or back n forth between them and the different time periods. I wanted to know more about Anna and her father. And would’ve preferred a delve into their lives.

2.5 Stars. I didn’t totally hate it but it definitely didn’t live up to all the hype for me. The publisher who wrote that it has the pacing of a film noir should be fired. Many parts of this dragged on, and Eddie’s and Anna’s stories seemed like they were two completely different books. Very little actually tied them together. And it was almost 90% into the book before anything happened. I fail to see why this was on every “Best of 2017” list.
