I'm not really sure how many books by Murakami I have read, 10, 11? Although I don't always like short story collections, I enjoy Murakami's short stories as well as his novels. Having said that, this collection is a little uneven. My favorite by far is Kino, because it is a typical Murakami story, with all the elements that we expect: A lonely bartender, jazz, cats, the city, shabby hotels.

I'm actually going to review three short story collections at once, since I read them all in quick succession, Bad Behavior by Mary Gaitskill, Men Without Women: Stories by Haruki Murakami, and Joshua Ferris's The Dinner Party and Other Stories.
