The amount of willing suspension of disbelief that the reader needs to suspend in this book is great. I realize she wants to create situations where choices are not clear cut, but there are so many of these choices in this story that it is difficult to handle.

A woman and her husband, Meg and Rex, finally have a child after years of trying. When the little boy, Evan, is six, he is killed by a drunk driver, a woman who was once Meg's close friend. Very Oprah-ish, but a page turner, nevertheless.

4.5 stars. An incredibly sad but realistic portrayal of grief and forgiveness. Emotionally intense.
