Solid book based upon historical records regarding adoption in the U.S. South from the mid-1930s to the 1950s. The story is a compelling one. The writing is good. The characters are well-developed, and I have to admit that I had to fight back tears at the ending.

That was a really good book. Even after I had finished the book, I wanted there to be more.
