Unlike Blind Faith, this absolutely lived up to the expectations Wittlinger set for me with Hard Love -- it's a gut-wrenchingly painful story about Grady, who until a few days before the outset of the book had been Angela. The story of Grady's transition from female to male is hard and honest, but it's also hopeful, and Wittlinger deals wonderfully with the high school reactions to a transgender teenager as well as with Grady's own struggles with friends, her feelings for the prettiest girl in
