I enjoyed felt more invested in the more modern sections of this book as it was just more relatable to me. I read this historical fantasy for a book challenge.
This was a very ambitious book. The author took a man (Cormac) in 1740 and set him in NYC where he could live forever as long as he never left Manhattan. So Cormac has to constantly reinvent himself, and learn new ways to make a living as the years progress. The first 150 pages are set in Ireland and this part of the book was wonderful. But I think because of the enormousness of the task, taking this man through over 200 years of new York history sometimes just did not work. Still Hamill obvious

This is a wonderful book. Part historical fiction, part fantasy, all great story.
I loved this book and it might even be my all time favorite. Hamill took on an enormous task and did it with amazing skill. He weaved stories together with expert talent and provided a beautiful ending to an amazing story.
